Lotus T had an incredible winter, spring and early summer show season. After a very sucessful 2006 in the hunter ring, Lotus T has started showing in the modified jumper division on the PSJ circuit at Canterbury, Fl, winning several classes and championships. Starting on the "A" circuit at the RMI Mid-Florida series, he placed in all $5000 Mini Prixs and Welcome classes showing impeccable style, rideability and power.

Homebred 2002 stallion, Akos (by Ariadus, out of Minden, a performance tested premium Holsteiner mare by Lemgo) was re-acquired by Prairie Pines a week before the Holsteiner approvals. At the approvals, even though he was not quite in show shape, he performed with power and style, and got approved. He has been in full dressage and jumping training since and he will debut in the show ring on the Florida circuit this winter.

The Central Florida show in Tampa, Florida was a great success for our horses. Lotus T has won and placed very high in the first year green working hunter classes. His 4 YO son, Coverboy was reserve champion in the level 4 division, placing 5th in teh first two classes with double-clear rounds and winning the speed class. On Sunday, he was loned to a 16 YO junior rider, Kate Roddey who had never ridden him before and they took 5th in the USET talent search class with precise, harmonious ride in the flat phase and a bold, forward ride in the jumper phase. Lasting Impression daughter, 4 YO Cindy performed beautifully in the level 1 and 2 classes, earning blue ribbons along the way.

Prairie Pines homebreds dominated the Holsteiner approvals at Pennock point. Recently re-acquired 4 YO stallion, Akos (Ariadus, out of a performance tested premium Lemgo daughter, full sister to Lotus T) was approved as a breeding stallion. Cornelius, a 2 YO Camiros son did the stallion pre-test and received high scores, including 8's for his free jumping. Lotus T's 2 YO daughter out of a premium Stauffenberg-Roberto-Aldato mare scored 50 points, was champion mare and earned Main Mare Book Premium Select status. Uncia (Ariadus X Key Moment) was reserve champion with 48 points, earning premium status. Uncia was subsequently sold to Sonia Zugel of New Jersey. Congratulations!

At the 2006 Holsteiner inspections, Pennock Point, Reddick, Florida, Prarie Pines had unparallelled success. Lotus T's foals, Levente (out of a Tb mother), Luxus T (out of an imported Stauffenberg/Roberto/Aldato mare)and Willa T (out of a Tb mother) were 7-7 merit foals, just a point from being premium. Linden (out of a Tb mother) was awarded premium status.

We hosted our 5th Belgian Warmblood inspections on August 19th, 2006. The winner in the 2006 colt's class was Glenmore (Lotus T X Szepvirag), owned by John and Joanna Nowlan. Glenmore scored 77 points - 3rd in the Nation and he is a full brother to 2005 winner, Freelance. Reserve champion was a Lasting Impression colt, Glimmerglass (out of Karona by Veneziano, half-sister to Prairie Pines' flagship stallion, Lotus T). Another Nowlan entry, Genevive won the 2006 filly class. She also scored 77 points and she is a full sister to last year's winner, Fancy Free. Congratulations, John and Joanna! Cornelius, a 2004 colt by Camiros, owned by Prairie Pines, successfully passed his stallion pre-test, including brilliant performance in the free-jumping chute. He will be presented for his full approvals next year.

Youngsters Coverboy (by Lotus T) and Cindy (by Lasting Impression) joined our flagship mare, Saba at the Chateau Elan August show in Braselton, GA. This was Cindy's very first horse show - and she impressed us by posting beautiful, clear rounds at level 1. Coverboy started out at level 2 and ended up only placing 2nd to Saba in the level 3's. Saba, after taking a break from showing, is back in the ring, jumping well, winning a couple of the level 3 classes and placing in the money in a stakes class.

July 2006 was mainly spent in Saint Louis by the Prairie Pines' stallions a well as two of their four year-old offspring Casablanca and Coverboy. Lasting Impression jumped his heart out, placing in both Open Welcome classes and did well in the Grands Prix. Lotus T was busy placing in the first year green classes and occassionally he ventured over to the jumper ring for a stroll at levels 3 and 4. Casablanca, who is by Lasting Impression placed in the level 2's with Andras, then with new owner, 12 year-old Amanda Wright he had picture perfect rounds in the low childrens' classes. Coverboy gained valuable show mileage at level 2 - earning good ribbons. LASTING IMPRESSION WAS SOLD AT THE END OF THE SECOND WEEK - HE WILL ENJOY BEING SHOWN BY HIS NEW OWNER IN THE ADULT AMATEUR HUNTERS. GOOD BYE, LIAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prairie Pines' stallions have performed well at the RMI mid-Florida series. Lasting Impression has consistently placed in the level 6 jumpers, as well as in the mini-Prix. In the meantime Lotus T wore two hats. He started his days with winning and placing in the first year green working hunters, then switching over to the jumper ring he showed off his stuff in the level 3's. Lotus T's first baby, the now 4 YO Coverboy showed the first time: in the baby-green hunters one week, then the next week placing in the level 1 jumpers.

Prairie Pines stallions Lasting Impression and Lotus T at the top of their game at the HITS 2006 circuit in Ocala. Lasting Impression switched disciplines for a change and this fabulous open jumper stallion showed in the regular working hunter division, consistently getting high ribbons. Mind you, this was Andras' first appearance in the hunter ring as well. Lotus T has finally recovered from his injuries suffered at the 2002 100-day stallion testing. In training since December 2005, he was champion at the level 2 jumpers, beating out 80-90 horses in the division!

Lotus T was approved by the American Holsteiner Horse Association in February, 2006. He now holds breeding license by the American Holsteiner Horse Association (AHHA, since 2006), the Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar International (RhPSI, since 2005) and the Belgian Warmblood Association (BWP, since 2001).
